Making Decisions..

Today, I made a decision – I want to run a race. I decided to sign up for the Tanger Outlets, Washington 5K Run / Walk next Sunday. I have NEVER run a race, but I’m going to do it next week. I believe it will be the ultimate motivation for me to continue my journey and it goes to support a great cause – Breast Cancer. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. I’d love company!

Meal Plans

Working on the meal plan for the next week based on the produce sales. I love being savvy like that! On the menu this week is yummy fall comfort food. Zucchini Protein Lasagna with Salad, Pear and Sage Stuffed Pork Chop with Broccoli, Meatball Sub with Roasted Veggies and Tomato Sauce with Salad, Butternut Squash with Ravioli and Spinach and Sausage Pizza. YUM! Still have three more days to plan out, but I’m off to a great start!

MIA

Sorry I’ve been MIA for a few days, but I’ve been working over the weekend at a conference in Williamsburg, VA. It’s been a crazy few days and I’m very happy to return home tomorrow to my family, my bed and my gym. Traveling is hell on me. On the run from dawn til dusk practically with very little free time. We packed up today thankfully so this afternoon has been somewhat relaxing but then it’s a long 6-8 hour trip home tomorrow afternoon. I’ve tried really hard to stay on task while I’m here but to be honest, with my schedule is very difficult. There’s only so much planning that can be done between the billion things that need accomplished. I did pack a selection of healthy snacks and when we’re eating out, I”m trying to stay on task as much as possible. It’s hard though with all this “great southern cooking” that’s everywhere in Williamsburg. Even though I know there have been a few slip ups and giving in to temptation (and yes, it was worth it), I will say I’ve been about 85% good eating healthy. It helps the guy I’m traveling with is pretty good about staying healthy as well so we’re on the same page. Well, I’m off for another evening out so here’s to a safe trip back home and can’t wait to hit the gym Wednesday morning.
