The quest for a dress

2013-02-01 20.22.28So last night I embarked on a quest to find a dress and within a day, I actually found two dresses!

The finale of my weight loss competition is next week so naturally I want to look AMAZING. Last night I went out with a friend in search of a dress. We found ourselves in Macys where I tried on a size 0x (or basically an xl. I was astonished that it actually fit!

Although I didn’t end up buying the dress (because of cost), the fact that it fit me is a huge accomplishment.

Today, my husband took me out to Tanger Outlets (my go to location to shop) and I actually found two dresses. Both are fantastic and he was so proud of me he let me get both. One of the dresses is more of an evening / cocktail dress. It’s really beautiful and I love it. The other is a less dressy, but still stunning dress that I’m really happy with.

I don’t know which one I’ll wear to the finale, but I’ll totally be rocking it! I’ve come such a long way in such a short amount of time. When I started this process I was wearing 24/26 clothes … today I was so proud to put on size 18/20s. Although one of the dresses I bought was a 22. I’m ok with it because of the style and cut. It just felt better than the 20. All clothes are made differently – we girls know that!

Shopping for clothes today was an amazing feeling. I felt confident that I not only could find something in my size, but find something that I liked. I was thrilled also that my store selection has expanded beyond just Lane Bryant to other stores in the mall that do carry my size. It’s nice to finally have options. I can’t wait until I have even more!
